About Me

René Holecek is the majority owner of Prague-based firearm manufacturer Colt CZ Group. The firm owns major firearms and ammunition brands including Colt, Sellier & Bellot and Dan Wesson. He invested in the firm, then named Česká zbrojovka, in 2001 and took a majority stake in 2014 before taking it public on the Prague stock exchange in 2020. In 2021, the firm acquired historic American gun manufacturer Colt in a $260 million deal and renamed itself Colt CZ. In 2024, Colt CZ acquired Czech ammunition manufacturer Sellier & Bellot for $700 million.
