Royalty Pharma, which conducted an IPO in 2020, has collected revenue slices of blockbuster drugs like Humira, Imbruvica, Lyrica, and Xtandi. A former investment banker at Lazard Fr'res, Legoretta started Royalty Pharma in New York as a private equity vehicle in 1996. In May 2025, Royalty Pharma acquired its external investment manager RP Management in a $1.1 billion deal. Legorreta owned 100% of RPM until 2024, when he gave just under half his stake to employees
