Lawson joined Brookfield in 1988, when it was called Brascan, and served as the firm's CFO from 2002 to 2020. Lawson began his career as an accountant at Touche Ross, a predecessor to Deloitte. His family's foundation supports nutrition research and established the University of Toronto's Joannah & Brian Lawson Centre for Child Nutrition.
