About Me

Arsen Kanokov's fortune stems from the Sindika Group, which has 35 shopping centers in southern Russia and eight hotels -- three of which are in Sochi, a prominent city known for its resorts. Kanokov was born in Kabardino-Balkaria, in 2005-2013 he used to be a president of Kabardino-Balkaria, one of Russia southern regions. He is a member of the Federation Council from Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. Kanokov bought shares of Starbucks, OBI and McDonalds in Russia after the companies decided to exit the country amid the Russia-Ukraine war. He is under E.U. and U.S. sanctions since 2022, and under U.K. sanctions since 2025.
